El Arenal Fairground

El Arenal is a fairground in the district of the same name, in the south-east of Córdoba. A large multipurpose venue for fairs and major concerts.

La Axerquía Theatre

The theatre reopened in 2007 as Teatro de la Axerquía with a Paco de Lucía concert that opened that year’s Guitar Festival, now one of the city’s most popular cultural events.

Córdoba Fair

The Córdoba Fair is held at the end of May in honour of Our Lady of Health. At El Arenal fairground, horse riders, flamenco dresses and music fill the casetas laid out along the streets. Most casetas are open to the public, inviting visitors to join the celebration.

In October, Córdoba hosts Flora, an international flower festival where floral artists from Spain and around the world create spectacular installations.

Gran Teatro de Córdoba

The Gran Teatro de Córdoba began construction in 1871 and opened on 13 April 1873. Designed by architect Amadeo Rodríguez, it preserves its original Italian-style horseshoe auditorium and today offers seating across stalls, boxes, amphitheatre and upper gallery.
